The Web 2.0 Experiment

Creating a personal website is nothing new. I’ve done it, thousands of others have done it, entire companies have risen and fallen to accomodate it (Geocities, I’m looking at you) and in all likelihood, you have done it.

What does one put on a personal website? I’m not sure that’s as clear. For sure, blogs and social media has helped this issue. Now there is a simple and easily defined way to update your website with fresh material and not succumb to yet-another-fansite where you’re just advertising something ‘not you’.

But, you ask, what’s the experiment? And what’s web 2.0? Why am I reading this blog? One question at a time, please. The experiment is this website and what I will be doing with it. Web 2.0 is a marketing buzzword that should die, but colloquially it can mean a push away from static, boring websites towards dynamic, fresh content. As for that last question, I’m not sure.
